The Youth Development Association conducted an awareness session at Al-Aedoun Camp in the southern Gaza Strip, focusing on personal hygiene and reproductive health, with the participation of a number of women and young women. The activity was implemented as part of the Association’s efforts to strengthen health and community awareness and promote sound preventive practices.
The session aimed to enhance participants’ knowledge of the importance of personal health and hygiene and to reduce health problems that may result from inadequate preventive practices, particularly in light of the difficult living conditions within displacement camps and affected communities.
The session covered a range of topics related to personal hygiene and its role in preventing disease, in addition to raising awareness about the importance of balanced nutrition, adequate water intake, and physical activity in supporting overall health.
The session also addressed the concept of reproductive health and its importance throughout different stages of life, with a focus on providing accurate health information on the prevention of diseases and infections, as well as the importance of consulting health professionals and seeking medical advice when symptoms or health concerns arise.
The session featured an interactive discussion that gave participants the opportunity to ask questions and address a number of common misconceptions and inaccurate beliefs related to health and personal hygiene, contributing to improved understanding and greater health awareness.
The activity was based on open dialogue and active participation, supported by simple practical examples and guidance that can be applied in daily life. This approach aimed to help participants adopt safer health practices and share key awareness messages with their families and communities.
This session is part of a series of awareness activities implemented by the Youth Development Association across the Gaza Strip, aimed at strengthening health and preventive awareness, responding to community needs, and contributing to the protection of individuals and families living in displacement camps and shelters.
