The Youth Development Association organized a dialogue session with development expert Eng. Taysir Muheisen, one of the Association’s founders, with the participation of a group of young male and female volunteers. The session was held at the Multi-Purpose Community Services Center affiliated with the Agricultural Development Association (PARC), within the framework of cooperation with the Palestinian PNGO Network.
The session presented an overview of the situation in the Gaza Strip before the war, during the war, and in the period following the ceasefire, highlighting the social, economic, and development-related transformations and challenges that accompanied these stages. It also addressed the importance of analyzing the current context, identifying priorities, and drawing lessons learned in order to develop practical visions and initiatives that respond to community needs and strengthen resilience.
The dialogue focused on the importance of expanding youth participation in public discussions and decision-making processes, while creating greater space for young people to express their perspectives and contribute to shaping national and community priorities.
Participants also discussed a number of pathways related to the next phase, including the importance of comprehensive national dialogue, reviewing previous experiences and drawing lessons from them, strengthening citizens’ resilience through economic empowerment, supporting entrepreneurial and small-scale projects, and expanding employment opportunities. The discussion also addressed the importance of mobilizing Arab and international support to respond to humanitarian and development needs, contribute to reconstruction, and support Palestinian rights.
The session emphasized the importance of dialogue, community participation, and collective action in strengthening awareness and responsibility, while encouraging young people to move from discussion to initiative and community action in ways that enhance their role in influencing change, addressing challenges, and contributing to shaping future visions.
This session is part of the Youth Development Association’s ongoing efforts to empower young people, strengthen their participation in national and community issues, create spaces for dialogue, critical thinking, and exchange of perspectives, and encourage youth-led initiatives that contribute to positive and sustainable change within the community.
