The workshop addressed key topics related to personal and public hygiene, public health, and protection from the risks posed by explosive remnants of war.
The session focused on strengthening women’s health awareness in displacement settings and promoting proper hygiene practices, including regular handwashing, maintaining the cleanliness of living areas and shared facilities, and ensuring safe handling of water and food to help prevent disease and reduce the spread of infections.
The workshop also highlighted the dangers associated with explosive remnants of war, suspicious objects, and unexploded ordnance. Participants were advised not to approach or touch any suspicious objects, to stay away from potentially hazardous areas, and to immediately report any suspected dangerous items to the relevant authorities.
A dedicated part of the workshop addressed the specific needs and challenges faced by women in displacement settings, emphasizing their important role in promoting healthy and safe practices within their families and shelters, as well as in sharing safety and awareness messages with children and other family members.
The Youth Development Association emphasizes the importance of continuing awareness and health activities targeting women and other groups most affected by the current humanitarian situation, helping them better protect themselves and their families and contributing to a safer and healthier environment in displacement settings.
This workshop comes as part of the Association’s ongoing efforts to support affected families in the Gaza Strip, strengthen health and preventive awareness, and promote a culture of safety and protection within the community.
