The Youth Development Association Begins Distributing Safe Drinking Water in Shelters in the Central Gaza Strip
The Youth Development Association distributed safe drinking water targeting displaced individuals in shelters and refuge centers in the afflicted northern governorate, specifically in the Al-Nasr neighborhood near Al-Ayoun Hospital in central Gaza City. Approximately 1,000 families benefited from the distribution of water tanks, addressing the displaced families' needs for drinking water and household purposes amidst the complete lack of necessities. This comes in the context of an unprecedented and suffocating blockade imposed on the northern residents for months, resulting in daily increasing suffering due to the total absence of access to food, water, baby formula, and other essential materials. The blockade by the occupying forces has prevented international organizations from delivering humanitarian, medical, and emergency aid, as well as providing necessities such as food, water, medicine, clothing, and other life-sustaining supplies to the northern governorates, warning of an impending humanitarian catastrophe affecting the residents of the Strip.
This activity is part of the campaign launched by the association on the first day of the ongoing war to assist our displaced families in the northern and southern parts of the Gaza Strip. The aim is to meet a small portion of the citizen's and their family's needs to help them persevere and survive. Suffering increases daily due to the complete absence of bare life essentials, in addition to the total lack of resources and materials reaching the northern governorates, such as food and other supplies, as a result of the occupying forces' blockade preventing the entry of food, water, baby formula, and other necessary materials. This situation foreshadows a looming humanitarian disaster engulfing the residents of the Strip.
The Gaza Strip is experiencing a severe humanitarian crisis as a result of the ongoing and continuous aggression and the suffocating blockade, especially in the afflicted northern governorates. This has led to the displacement of many citizens from the northern areas to the southern regions without providing even the simplest of their needs for food, drink, shelter, blankets, clothing, water, and sanitary materials, greatly exacerbating their suffering. Additionally, the destruction caused by the American-Zionist war machine has devastated homes, shelters, hospitals, and areas considered safe within the Strip, where displaced individuals are seeking refuge.
